sonnet cxiv

the whole time zone change thing is really weird. its like just a bit after lunch time for all of you and i'm about ready for bed. course i'm exhausted from walking around all day today. this morning i went for a run with john--maybe the most american thing we could do. the british rarely run for leisurely purposes. they stared at us from their cars as they went whizzing past--they drive soooo fast here. then we went off to stratford-on-avon, (shakespeare's town) for a walk along the river and some time in the shops. it is just beautiful here, i really love it. everyone wants to be outside throwing a frisbee or having a picnic or just napping on a bench. then theres those who live in the house boats on the river. its so strange to be looking down into the river at people looking up at you from their sofas. its a lovely idea but it can't be a nice view for them. ugly shoes and grass. the swans were nice. well, not kind, their rude little buggers but they're nice to look at. like olivia palermo, i suppose. anyway, i don't really want this to become a journal type of thing and i've got to get some rest. we're going on a twelve and a half mile walk tomorrow through the peak district, provided the weather cooperates. hope you're all enjoying your last remnants of summer before school...

 afternoon tea

no idea what kind of car this is but people were huddled around taking pictures of it so i figured
i might as well too. hope its not a crime scene or anything.

everyone here eats ice cream ALL THE TIME. there are seriously ice cream shops on every corner.
on place goes as far as to say on it's sign that their ice cream is, "literally yummy." as opposed to
metaphorically?

i found this giant lord of the rings looking tree in a graveyard and sat on it. happy in a sad place
so i'm right outside of shakespeare's tomb apparently doing an ad for american apparel.
my apologies mr. shakespeare

  1. plan: move to one of those houseboats and make fun of olivia palermo for being so awful. and all the while, john can eat his beloved bread pudding and joan can serve yams. eat some ice cream for me.
