it has been a week...

time certainly does fly. i'm amazed by how quickly this trip is going by--i'm leaving friday! anyway, i havent been able to get on the internet in a few days and instead of writing a novel about the past four days i think i'll just put up some pictures and give you guys some very brief descriptions... i'm also exhausted since we have been traveling all day today. woke up in london at 5:30am to get to the ferry by 8:30am in dover to get to calais to drive for seven hours to get to the beach in saint nazaire but we made it! and i just finished my dinner on the beach of banana and cinnamon crepes. je suis plus qu'hereuse. enjoy the pics! it kind of goes backwards, like from bottom to top, so thursday when i went to the stables starts at the bottom...

and we're here!!

saturday: good morning!

very funny england.
this is covent garden. the place in london where you can buy beautiful flowers, things from the
market, have delicious meals and get drunk and sing YMCA in front of a couple hundred strangers
on a friday night.
here's to you london.

so in case you're wondering--which you probably aren't--why i'm so gaga for gelato
all of a sudden, it all began in a little place called bravo gelato in green hills with my
little friend teesie. okay she sounds made up when i put it like that. kelsie and i went to get free gelato and it basically changed our lives--well at least my life, for sure. then, phase two of the total gelato mental control mission:
i started reading "eat pray love," in which she describes spiritual encounters with gelato. all of this is to say
i'm getting fat.

I FOUND MY GELATO!!!
and then all of a sudden something magical happened...

big ole ben from trafalgar square.

entering picadilly. if you don't know what picadilly square is, imagine that you are trapped in a port-a-potty with a thousand europeans who all either want to see a movie, eat a kebab, eat gelato, or get wasted. now imagine it's raining in the port-a-potty and you can't get out.
now multiply this emotion by a hundred.
that's picadilly square.

it did look pretty freakin good though....

so i thought i had found like the holy of holies of gelato in harrods but
it turns out EVERY middle eastern woman lives at this gelato
shop and they won't serve you until there is a free seat and none of these ladies were moving
i mean like they had basically forwarded their mail to
this place. so we left and continued
our gelato-quest.
thanks for nothing harrods.

noms.

a rainy day in london... what's new.

trying to stay out of the water.

the courtyard was so beautiful and tranquil and there were children playing
in the fountain. i wanted to as well but alas i was wearing jeffrey campbells, not jellies.

all her shoes are manolos. i was drooling on the glass pane.

kylie minogue's exact accurate replica of her dressing room. the one place in the world
i can honestly say i would break into no matter the cost.

dear john.

so we had a little time to kill and were starving...  this area of london
is covered in restaurants. actually, every part of london is covered in restaurants--most of them french or italian.
